I’m Nicole, the lady behind the camera. Based in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. I started my photography adventure 11 years ago when I took a film photography class in college. That’s when I fell in love with capturing images to tell stories and inspire others. I officially became a business in 2016. Since then, I have been asked if Rootsie is my last name, my dog's name, or a special place of mine…let me explain Rootsie to you...

To put it simply, you can’t look up Rootsie in the dictionary because it isn’t a real word. It's a feeling, a glimpse into the moment. It's a whimsical take on the adjective ‘rootsy’, expressing my earthy style and the importance of beginnings, one’s origins and where it all started, hence my focus on maternity, newborn, children and family.

I’m passionate about capturing you at your core, describing who you are and where you come from.
